Deliberate practice is when we pay close attention to how we're performing a task to determine how our desired outcome for the task matched with reality.
Aspects of deliberate practice can include:
- Practicing the most difficult sub-parts of a task repeatedly (drilling)
- Creating an intentional plan for how we're going to perform the task
- Staying mindful as we perform the task in real-time, noting our impressions about how we're doing
- Taking the time to record our impressions about how the task went
- Gathering [[Feedback]] about the task and comparing it to our intended outcome
