An Identity Pact is a way of committing to do something ([[Forming habits]]) or not do something ([[Avoiding distractions]]) where we attach an aspect of our identity to the action we want to take. Our self-image has a profound impact on our behavior. By taking on a new identity, we empower ourselves to make decisions based on who we believe we are. An example of an Identity Pact is saying to ourselves and others "I don't drink" instead of "I don't want a beer right now"
